General Sales Manager - Singapore

We are looking for an ambitious new colleague to join our sales team in Singapore.

You will be responsible for the sales of our products: cylinder lubrication systems for 2-stroke marine diesel engines. At the same time you will be responsible to manage and lead our Singapore Office.

Our customers include ship owning companies, technical management companies and engine makers. You will be responsible for our sale in the Far East with focus on profitable growth and customer satisfaction.

The job

You will be responsible for driving our sales and reaching our goals according to a geographic segmentation. Amongst your tasks are strategic and key account management, sales force effectiveness and pipeline management across your sales areas.

The key to your success is to possess strong sales competences and a pragmatic mindset, keep a clear focus on the main objective and have the ability to understand the customer’s situation and needs and having a strong ability to close a deal. Our usual point of contact is technical directors, technical managers, Superintendents and Chief Procurement Officers.

You will get a thorough introduction at the work of the present General Sales Manager.

Responsibilities of the General Sales Manager:

  • Achieve assigned sales quota in designated strategic accounts/areas.
  • Meet assigned expectations for profitability.
  • Achieve strategic customer objectives defined by company management.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
  • You will be based in our Singapore Office and be responsible for coaching, motivating and directing our sales and service team in our Singapore Office

As General sales Manager you shall expect a yearly travel activity of around 90-100 working days.

About you

We are looking for a colleague driven by creating a sale from the initial talks with the customer, through technical presentations and commercial negotiations to the final result, a contract. You are an experienced sales manager - preferred with experience from project sales in an international environment.

Your experience may be combined with an educational background such as Marine Engineer, other technical skills or a commercial education - however your educational background is not the deciding factor but you must have a flair and understanding of both technical and commercial sales action

Key characteristics about you:

  • Strong account management skills.
  • Recognized experience developing relationships with senior executives.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • AStrongly result oriented and high discipline.

You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
